Becky Ashburn- PRO
Becky Ashburn, National Race Officer, has been sailing since before she could walk and started racing multihulls with her brother while in high school. She took her first Race Management seminar in 2011 and has been hooked ever since! Though she enjoys racing multi- and mono-hulls, she really prefers the view from the other side of the start line.
As a PRO, Becky's major events over the past few years include the Detroit Cup International Match Race, J/111 Worlds in Chicago, US Sailing Junior Women's Doublehanded Champs at SDYC, Hobie North American Championships in Avila Beach, Moth North Americans, Kiteboarding Pan American qualifiers in Coronado, and the LEMWOD in Long Beach. Other race committee highlights include 4 years at the Sailing World Cup Series, Extreme Sailing Series, Youth Sailing World Championships, Chicago-Mackinac Race, and the MEXORC in Puerto Vallerta. Becky is a Level B Sailor-Athlete, a member of the US Sailing Race Management Committee, and is working towards Judge and IRO certification
